Gemma's Transformation: Week 1

Well (errrrmmmmmmmmm) it’s technically 'Day 4' as I signed up on a Thursday and Pro Coach always starts on a Monday. This is one element that I already liked as Gillian gave me some tasks for preparation and some homework to complete. I had to set goals and start thinking about 'me'.

But before all that, 'WHY' did I sign up for this? I am an active person. I’d like to go so far as to call myself fit but I have always struggled with food. I’ve gone from not eating because I think I’ll lose weight, to thinking I don’t care and eating what I want. I have never been comfortable with how I look.

I was diagnosed with an under-active thyroid which went some way to explaining the difficulty in losing weight. Medication helped kick-start some weight-loss but I wasn't comfortable in taking the drugs. Then, when I started Crossfit 2 years ago, my body started changing again but I soon plateaued. I LOVE Crossfit and I wanted to know how I could fuel my body in the best way to get the best out of my performance.

I read articles and followed plans. I asked people but (and this is another reason I love Vida6) there is no one single plan that fits everyone and Vida6 offers a tailored approach for each individual. That, right there, is the main reason I signed up.

So, today is my first official day on the plan but as I signed up on Thursday I’ve had a few days of information to read through and videos to watch so that I understand how the program will work for me, what I need to do to commit and absorb some interesting pointers to get me started.

Day 1 starts with the first '5-minute Habit' and as soon as I wrote mine down I got on with it; recipe planning and food shopping for the week. To be honest I have always been pretty good at the shopping side of things but writing down the plan for the week certainly made me stick to a list and feel more in control already!

Contact with Gillian has been fantastic from the very start. She checks in and offers alternatives and researches thyroid issues thoroughly. It makes you see how closely tailored the plan is for you and Gillian will go to every effort to learn about you and how she can help.

The other great thing is that I am in the USA and Gillian is in Europe but we still make the plan work over email, Whatsapp and Skype. This is 2017!

I am super excited for what’s to come! Follow my journey. Any questions you have please email Gillian on and she can pass them along to me.
